Who wouldn’t want to be a bird photographer after watching all the fun 2015 Nature Photographer of the Year David Stowe gets to have?

DAVID STOWE, THE overall winner of the 2015 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition, lets us into his bird photography world and shows us some incredible footage of his prize – a trip on a Heritage Expeditions boat through the subantarctic.

Nature Photographer of the Year

The Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition (formerly ANZANG) celebrates the natural heritage of the Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea bioregions each year.

This prestigious competition, run in partnership with the South Australian Museum, continues to be a brilliant showcase for the unique flora, fauna and landscapes of this part of the world.

Australian Geographic is proud to be a partner in the contest. We understand the power of beautiful photography and are keen to encourage excellence in this pursuit and an appreciation of the special natural values of our own backyards, quite literally.

Entries have now closed and the winners will be announced in August. Keep an eye out for our Sep-Oct issue (AG#134) to see a selection of the finalists in print.
