Each Autumn, competitors come together to find the fastest vehicle at Speed Week 2013.

MORE THAN 300 PARTICIPANTS TURNED out for Speed Week 2013 – Australia’s race to achieve the fastest land speed – with a myriad of cleverly-engineered vehicles.

The race, which echoes a long-standing American tradition, takes place on the moon-like surface of Lake Gairdner, South Australia.

Their aim: to break the world speed record in a chosen vehicle class.
