Strike a pose: Coastal carpet python

By AG STAFF | November 27, 2015

This python wasn’t too happy about being disturbed – which worked in the favour of the budding photographer who captured this striking image.

This week’s reader photo of a coastal carpet python (Morelia spilota mcdowelli) was taken by Brodie James from Chandler, QLD.

“One afternoon after school I decided it would be a good idea to grab my camera and go for a walk. Whilst on the lookout for my usual subject of birds, I came across this little fella on a small stick beside me soaking up the last of the light and warmth before night. While he didn’t seem too impressed with my existence, he did pose for me a couple of times, allowing for some great photo opportunities,” he said.

Brodie hopes to one day be a professional wildlife photographer and shoot for magazines like Australian Geographic.
