I return to the office after a few weeks off all abuzz about what the New Year will hold for the AG Society, and for me.

There are a few things on the list but the most pressing is the new Nancy Bird Walton Sponsorship for Female Adventurers. After its announcement at last year’s AG Awards in October, I thought we would be flooded with applications from adventurous types of the female persuasion — ladies bursting at the seams to get out and challenge themselves.

But, alas… I have two!

Where are you ladies?!

Surely there are women out there who want to climb a mountain, to track an unknown beast into the wilderness, to travel to a far off destination or to do something they have always dreamed about.

Aren’t there?

I have often lamented (to the many male adventurous types around me) about the lack of female adventurers bursting through our doors (or into our Inbox as the case may be).

Is adventure just a boy thing?

Surely not. There’s an adventurous streak in all of us, and my mission this year is to make sure mine gets a good workout. I hope all you ladies out there will join me.

Apply for the Nancy Bird Walton Sponsorship and your next adventure could be supported by the AG Society. Go, girls.
