These images of the annual salmon migration along Western Australia’s coastline are mesmerising.

Photographer Joel Nankivell of the Margaret River Region in Western Australia perfectly captured the annual Australian salmon run.

Each year, the salmon embark on their westwards migration along the southern coast of Australia to the lower south-west coast in late summer, ready to spawn.

Once mature, the adult fish migrate back to the south coast of Western Australia.
