The joys of canine companionship celebrated in Top Dog Film Festival

Last year we learnt about dogs who rescue koalas, and this year’s festival has stepped right up to that plate. From surfing dogs, to acting dogs, to dogs that help sniff out rare Hector’s dolphins (yes, that’s a thing!), this year’s Top Dog Film Festival is set to provide your annual dose of heart-melting stories about beloved canine companions.
Touring around Australia in August and September, the film festival highlights incredible dog characters and their relationships with their owners. But be warned, these films will tug at any dog-lovers heart strings, so pack your tissues and prepare for a tear or two.
“Dogs have a remarkable ability to bring people together and touch our lives in profound ways, and we hope that these films will do the same”, remarks Jemima Robinson, founder of the film tour.
The film festival will visit at least one cinema in every state, so wherever you are in Australia, you’ll have the chance to watch the two-hour film compilation. Check out the screening locations and times, and book your session!
