Herons make a meal of young green turtles along their journey to the ocean

Not all turtles make it to the ocean thanks to the nankeen night heron.

After hatching on land, young green turtles scurry their way to the ocean, but it’s hardly a smooth trip. Along the way they face fierce predators, including the nankeen night heron.
