This is seriously cool.

The Australian Antarctic Division are now looking for artists to apply for this year’s Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship.

The fellowship gives artists the opportunity to travel to Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic to observe Australia’s activities in these areas and communicate them in a unique way.

The chosen artist will travel on Australia’s icebreaker, Aurora Australis, on its final resupply voyage.

Applications that pay tribute to the ship’s 30 years of service as the backbone of the Australian Antarctic Program and main lifeline to Australia’s Antarctic and sub-Antarctic research stations are encouraged.

Expressions of interest will close on 3 April 2019 at 5:00pm.
