ITINERARY

5 September: Welcome to Cocos (Keeling) Islands

Arrive to Cocos and settle into your hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner at Saltmakers restaurant.

Overnight: Cocos Beach Motel, ocean view room

Dinner provided.

6 September: Home Island & Canoe Safari

Take an early ferry to Home Island where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast on the foreshore of Home Island. After breakfast, the group will be split into two to allow the use of buggies to explore Home Island. One group will walk to visit the Home Island Visitor Centre & Museum and delve into the fascinating history of Cocos where you can read about the local culture and tradition, the abundant flora and fauna, Australian naval history, and the early owners of the Cocos Keeling Islands – The Clunies-Ross family. Stroll through the calophyllum palm jungle and explore the gardens of Oceania House. The second group will visit the picturesque cemetery located towards the north of the island from where you can also enjoy the amazing views of Prison Island and Direction Island. Groups will then swap activities.

Afterwards, depart on the ferry to West Island and visit the Big Barge Art Centre for morning tea. There will be time to return to your accommodation to change into your swimmers for your Cocos Island canoe safari where you will experience some of the most remote and beautiful parts of the atoll that is the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Enjoy the shallow, pristine, aqua landscape as you comfortably explore on motorised canoes the southern part of the lagoon, island hopping and snorkelling your way through paradise. Lunch will be served at a remote island location. You’ll be full of good food, good company and good cheer after an experience you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the world!

Return to West Island in time to change for dinner at Tropika restaurant.

7 September: Exploring the Islands

An early-morning pick-up from your accommodation to board your ferry to Direction Island. Breakfast and lunch will be served on the Island today. Here you can enjoy time to relax, swim, safely snorkel among diverse marine life including colourful fish, including huge wrasse and parrotfish, untouched corals, and inquisitive reef sharks, and take leisurely historical walks to explore the beauty and nature of this magical place.

This afternoon board your return ferry to West Island where you will have the option (at own expense) to play golf across international runway.

Farewell dinner this evening at Saltmakers restaurant.

8 September: Departure

Check out of your accommodation this morning and enjoy your final breakfast in paradise.

Transfer to the airport and check in for your flight. There will be time for last-minute shopping and farewelling new friends.
