Australian Geographic Society Conservationist of the Year Award winner in 2014

Anna is an active environmentalist who works tirelessly to help Australia make progress on climate change and sustainability. She is currently strategic projects director with Farmers for Climate Action and works hard to be a catalyst for positive change within the agricultural sector. Previously she was National Manager for Earth Hour with WWF-Australia. When she was still at University, Anna co-founded the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and was National Co-Director for five years. She is author of the book ‘Madlands: A Journey to Change the Mind of a Climate Sceptic’ (MUP, 2012) and co-starred in the ABC documentary ‘I Can Change Your Mind on Climate Change’. Anna is a current member of the Advisory Board of Australian Geographic.

More about Anna Rose

Anna Rose is an advocate for the environment like no other. Throughout her entire career, Anna’s commitment to environmental activism and inspiring change amongst Australia’s Youth has been awe inspiring. At just 22 years old, she co-founded the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC), which is now one of Australia’s largest youth organisations with over 120,000 members. Her exuberance and innate passion for the environment has led her career down many different avenues, including becoming the national manager for Earth Hour with WWF Australia, writing the book “Madland: A Journey to Change the Mind of a Climate Sceptic”, co-starring in the ABC documentary “I Can Change your Mind on Climate Change”, and currently, in her role as strategic projects director with Farmers for Climate Action.

After her take-over of Earth Hour, Anna increased participation, awareness and impact of the Australian-founded movement to over 172 countries around the world, with one in three Australian taking part in the yearly event. In 2015, Anna was the Australian Geographic Society’s Conservationist of the Year.

Anna’s inspirational dedication to climate action is contagious and she is a role model for many aspiring young female leaders right across the country.
