In the shed: New products land at ADVENTURE HQ for testing
The Gear Shed at Aus Geo ADVENTURE HQ has been filled with a pile of new outdoor products for testing over the next couple of months. From rugged apparel and hi-tech camping gear to fancy gravel bikes and schmick new sleeping bags, here’s a sneak peek at the gear that has just arrived in the test shed.
The North Face Peak Hooded Jacket
This new all-rounder jacket from The North Face combines the latest in synthetic insulation tech (the brand’s advanced ThermoBall insulation is favourite here at Aus Geo ADVENTURE) and some cool design features to ensure optimum performance and protection. We can’t wait to get out into the wild with this (and yeah, we’re a big fan of the colour scheme!).
Companion Rover 1300 Power Station
Portable power packs for camping and 4WD touring continue to get better and Companion’s latest Rover – the Rover 1300 Power Station – is the perfect example. With oodles of grunt (a massive 1344Wh output) and loads of ports for charging/recharging, we’re keen to see how this schmick bit of camping gear performs on out in the wild.
Sea to Summit Spark Pro Down sleeping bag
The highly regarded Aussie outdoor brand’s latest addition to its Spark sleeping bag range is impressive to say the least. With RDS-certified 950+ goose down fill (with Ultra-Dry Down treatment) and plenty of other technical features – all in a lightweight package – Aus Geo ADVENTURE gear testers are already arguing over who gets the Spark Pro Down first.
Santa Cruz Stigmata
We’ve swapped our much-revered long-term test Santa Cruz Tallboy (see our first Tallboy review, here) for the famous mountain bike brand’s gravel riding option. Santa Cruz has released the latest incarnation of its Stigmata gravel bike (complete with a front suspension fork option on some models) and we’ve scored one for a long-term test after returning our long-term Santa Cruz Tallboy tester. With some awesome bikepacking destinations on the agenda, the Stigmata will cover plenty of kilometres over the next few months.
