A misplaced sunset resulted in this stunning capture of Gunlom plunge pool, located on Waterfall Creek in World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park.

This week’s reader photo was taken by Thomas Warren at the beautiful Gunlom plunge pool in Kakadu National Park, NT.

“This photo of Gunlom in the Northern Territory surprised me when I took it. As I was waiting for sunset I soon realised that the sun wasn’t setting in front of me, but over a rock to the side that left me no photo opportunity. I took this one anyway, and was happy with the result. I shot this photo with my Pentax K-3 and Sigma APO 55-300mm lens,” he said.
