A good sign: Peppered tree frog

This week’s reader photo comes from Jasmine Vink, an amateur wildlife photographer with a particular passion for reptiles and amphibians.
“While out frogging with an ecologist friend, I was given the rare opportunity to photograph some peppered tree frogs (Litoria piperata). This species has not been seen in its original range for over 25 years; however, recently a couple of small, fragmented populations have been discovered. Studies are currently taking place to authenticate these populations, as some taxonomic confusion still exists within the whole complex,” she said.
