AG Reader Photo: Vlasoff Cay

THIS GORGEOUS FISH-EYE VIEW of the Vlasoff Cay, a sand cay in the Great Barrier Reef just off Cairns, is this week’s reader shot sent in by Matthew Curnock from Townsville.
“[I study] dwarf minke whales in the Great Barrier Reef, among other charismatic marine fauna,” says Matt, a post-doctoral researcher at James Cook University.
“This photograph was taken from a helicopter during a brief holiday at the local reefs off Cairns [and] the image shows Vlasoff sand cay from a bird’s/fish-eye perspective.”
