Flickr photo of the week: sunrise over salt lake
This vivid shot, titled ‘Sunrise over salt lake’ is this week’s AG Flickr photo and comes to us from member John White.
A paramedic for the South Australian Ambulance Service, John took the photo on Christmas Eve last year near Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia.
“I’ve driven past this salt lake every year for the last seven years and it has always been bone dry,” he says. “This summer there has been a lot of rain and the lake is full. A storm was approaching and the clouds at sunset were amazing so I took a shot. My camera is a Canon 5D mark II, and I used my 24-105mm lens at 28mm to capture the photo.
Photography has become an obsession for me and over the last two years I have been published in more than 20 countries. I find there is so much to photograph in Australia and hope to spend the next few years adding to my collection of Australian landscapes.”
