Meet Australia’s Andrew Lock and raise money for a worthy cause.

IT ISN’T OFTEN THAT you have the chance to listen first hand to the tales of an extraordinary adventurer. The Australian Himalayan Foundation is offering this chance at their 2011 dinner when they present Andrew Lock as a keynote speaker.

Andrew is true leader in Australian and international alpine circles. In 2009 he reached his goal of summiting all 14 of the world’s 8000 m peaks. His journey saw him battle with challenges the like of which we can only imagine – severe weather, harsh terrain, the loss of comrades and extreme mental and physical hurdles.

The fund raising event will be held on Friday, March 25, 6.30 pm until 11.00 pm at the Federal Golf Club, Gowrie Drive, Red Hill, Canberra.

Tickets cost $120 per person, with all proceeds going to the Australian Himalayan Foundation’s healthcare, environment and education projects in the Himalayan regions of Nepal, Bhutan and India.

The ticket price includes a three-course meal, all drinks and entertainment. You can book online here or phone 02 9438 1822.
