Australian Geographic – Subscription Survey Terms and Conditions

AUSTRALIAN GEOGRAPHIC SUBSCRIPTION SURVEY PROMOTION – CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1.

Promoter 

Australian Geographic Holdings Pty Ltd ACN 624 547 922 

Competition 

Australian Geographic “Win a year’s subscription to Australian Geographic Magazine”

Entrants 

Australian residents aged 18 years and over  

Exclusions  

Employees of Promoter and the suppliers and agencies associated with this Competition, and the immediate family of all such employees, and any person involved in the management of any organisation which will benefit from the Competition. 

Entry Period 

Starts at 00:01 hours AEDT on Friday 1 November 2024 and ends at 23:59 hours AEST on Friday 27 December 2024. 

Entry  

To enter the game of chance, the customer must complete the subscription survey online.

Limit 

Entrants can enter as many times as they wish.

Draw 

At 10am AEST on Friday 20 December 2024 at the offices of the Promoter at 52-54 Turner Street, Redfern NSW 2016. 

Notification  

By email, phone or mail on Friday 20 December 2024.

Publication 

The Winner’s name will be published on the Australian Geographic website (https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/) for a minimum of 28 days on and from the date of the Draw. 

Claim Period 

Within two (2) weeks from the date of Notification. 

Unclaimed Prize Draw 

An unclaimed Prize draw will be held at between 09:00 hours AEST and 17:00 hours AEST on Monday 6 January 2025 at the offices of the Promoter at 52-54 Turner Street, Redfern NSW 2016. (Unclaimed Prize Draw). 

The winner of the Unclaimed Prize Draw (Unclaimed Prize Winner) will be notified by email within two business days of the Unclaimed Prize Draw.  

The Unclaimed Prize Winner will be published in the same manner as set out under Publication for a minimum of 28 days on and from the date of the Unclaimed Prize Draw. 

Prize 

The winner will receive 1 year (6 issues) subscription to Australian Geographic Magazine.  Winner can nominate a recipient or keep for themselves.

Total Prize Value 

Valued at up to $76.99. Prize is not redeemable for cash.   

Prize Conditions

  1. By entering this Competition, Entrants may be subject to terms and conditions of third-party websites such as Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram. 
  1. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter, Facebook, and/or Instagram.  
  1. Entrants are solely responsible and liable for the content of their Entries and any other information they transmit to other Internet users. To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend and forever hold harmless, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and its associated agencies and companies, against any and all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by an Entrant in respect of the Entrant’s participation in the Competition.  
  1. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Competition must be directed to the Promoter, and not to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.

14. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees,  the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.

15. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

Privacy:
The Promoter collects personal information (“PI”) in order to conduct the offer and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Redemption of the offer is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its privacy policy, which can be accessed by visiting. https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/privacy. In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may also, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the bearer/subscriber. Bearer/subscribers should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct PI to the Promoter and direct any complaints regarding treatment of their PI according to the Privacy Policy. All redemptions of the offer become the property of the Promoter.
