This week’s reader photo of a canyon in the Blue Mountains, NSW depicts an almost other-wordly scene

Congratulations to this week’s AG Flickr group member Max Pemberton, for his image, ‘Claustral Canyon’

Says Max, a photographer from Sydney, New South Wales: “This is an incredible canyon in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. I had previously visited Claustral Canyon long before I was interested in photography which had left me with fond memories of the spectacular canyon walls and streaming rays of sunlight.

I finally found the time and a friend who was willing to wait patiently while I took photos, which by the way is an epic task in such a wet and humid environment; it didn’t help that it was mid-winter. After a nearly 12-hour adventure through the canyon, we got back to our car in the dark and chilled to the bone. No rays of sunlight this trip; however, I think I have managed to accurately portray the amazing light and colour of this canyon.”
