Yakima’s new MOD System now available in Australia
The highly acclaimed MOD System, a modular rear-of-vehicle storage platform from Yakima, is now available in Australia. Already garnering rave reviews overseas, this clever storage system is ideal for all vehicle-based adventurers, whether you’re a family who love weekend escapes (or simply transporting the clan’s younger members to their sports days), or road-trippers looking to tackle the Big Loop around Oz.

Built for the way adventurous travellers in Australia use their vehicles – from four-wheel drive trips to Cape York to gear-heavy surf and MTB missions down the south coast – the Yakima MOD System is a fully customisable, heavy-duty storage platform designed to keep your gear organised, secure, and easy to access.
A base for all types of storage
With the MOD HomeBase as the building block of your system, there is a high amount of customisation offering multiple configurations when mix-and-matched with MOD Topper drawers, MOD WorkSpace, Fridge Sliding Mount, Stretch Net and more. The MOD™ HomeBase attaches to the tie-down points in your vehicle’s rear cargo area (note: check for compatibility) and requires no drilling or modifications to the vehicle. An internal drawer divider with multiple mounting locations is also included, and the drawer is lockable with Yakima SKS Lock Cores (sold separately). To fit different types of vehicles, the HomeBase is available in two different sizes: MD (91mm x 61mm x 24mm) and LG (91mm x 85mm x 24mm).

Built for real-world adventures, the Australian iteration of the MOD System starts off featuring robust drawer units, heavy-duty fridge slides, and stretch nets to keep your gear locked down. It’s made to take on long drives to bush tracks, and constant repacking that comes with an active lifestyle, as well as being robust enough for Australia’s uniquely tough conditions, whether in the desert or on the coast.
“This is the gear-hauling solution Aussie drivers have been waiting for,” says Tracy Schweitzer, Senior Brand Manager for Yakima Australia. “The MOD System is built tough for serious off-roaders, but it’s just as at home with busy families juggling school runs, weekend sports, and spontaneous getaways. From campfires to commutes, it’s ready for whatever life throws in the back.”
