Following the footsteps of Australian poet, Henry Lawson, David visits the old pastoral town of Bourke

Henry Lawson’s poetry is integral to the collective imagination of Australian history and culture. The Australian landscape was formative to Lawson’s work and in this episode David follows his footsteps, visiting the town of Bourke.

Just outside of Bourke is Toorale Station, now Toorale National Park, where Lawson laboured and learnt about the tough lives of everyday Australians.
