A Central Netted Dragon on the base walk of Uluru

This central netted dragon (Ctenophorus nuchalis) was captured mid-snack in the heat of the red centre.

“He didn’t really mind my boyfriend and I watching him in wonder, so I crawled closer and tried to get on the same level in the 40°C heat, the rocks digging into my knees,” says Chontelle.

“He just continued to look between the sky and the ants running around it before snatching one up and honing in on another. We left him in peace after a few minutes, hoping to see more wildlife along the way.”
