A dainty silvereye hidden among the foliage in Melbourne, Victoria

“I captured this tiny, beautiful silvereye (Zosterops lateralis) perching on foliage in the regrettably named Skankland Reserve in Melbourne,” says Kristian.

Although one of Australia’s smallest birds, the Silvereye is capable of travelling great distances during migration. They can be found travelling north each autumn from the most southerly regions of Tasmania all the way up to Southern Queensland, and returning in the late winter to the south to breed.
