Born back in August, the pair of teeny tiny pups have only just began exploring their enclosures.

TWO FEMALE meerkat pups born at the Monarto Zoo in South Australia have ventured out of their den for the first time this week.

First time parents Eanie and Roho welcomed the duo back in August and now the little ones— weighing just 120 g are ready to gain some independence. But they aren’t venturing too far away from mum and dad just yet.

“Their playful personalities are starting to shine through as they go on adventures in their habitat under the watchful eye of their doting parents,” Monarto Zoo keeper Cristy Seymour told ABC News.

These are the first set of meerkats to be born at the zoo.
