#152 September-October 2019
Our cover star this issue is our southern cassowary (Casuarius casuarius), captured by Dr Ruchira Somaweera. In this issue we examine these curious looking birds and their integral role in the health of our northern Queensland rainforests, attend the Winds of Zenadth festival in Torres Strait, and take a road trip along Wool Road in New South Wales.
We step back in time and explore ancient Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, dive to the deepest depths of the ocean with our guest speaker at the 2019 AGS Gala Awards Night Victor Vescovo (tickets are on sale now!), and investigate the effects of massive deforestation of Brigalow forests in Queensland. We also take a look at our winning entries from this year’s Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition, and go caving in Tasmania with adventurer Stephen Fordyce and his team.
Plus, we have 10 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the year bundle packs to giveaway! (Enter here)
