WHAT TO EXPECT

Explore the unique birdlife on Christmas Island! The annual Christmas Island Bird & Nature Week offers bird lovers the opportunity to get up close and personal to nature and all Christmas Island has to offer. Experienced guides, working on research and specialising in birds, help bring guests and the unique fauna and flora of Christmas Island closer together.

Bird & Nature Week guests are also offered the option to extend their stay in Australia’s Indian Ocean islands and participate in the Cocos (Keeling) Island add-on, which is all-inclusive.

Bird & Nature Week – Trip Highlights

• Actively participate in citizen science working alongside scientists as they band birds including the Christmas Island goshawk, monitor brown boobies, and collect data – all in a safe, low-impact and educational atmosphere.
• Capped numbers for the event keep the group manageable and the experience intimate for guests. Enjoy small group sizes to rotate through the different activities each day.
• Expert guides to manage varying abilities throughout the program for safety and comfort.
• Plenty of opportunities for spotting and identifying the island’s many species of crabs.
