Consumer Guarantees, Warranties, & Refunds
Australian Consumer Law protects consumers by providing certain guaranteed rights when purchasing goods and services. These rights, which automatically apply whenever goods or services are supplied to a consumer, are called ‘Consumer Guarantees’.
Under Australian Consumer Law, these Consumer Guarantees cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of “acceptable quality” and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Australian Geographic Magazine and Australian Geographic Adventure Magazine Subscriptions
By clicking “Pay Now” on your subscription order form on the https://www.Australian Geographic.com.au site (Australian Geographic Site), you are agreeing to purchase a print or digital subscription to, or a single digital issue of Australian Geographic Magazine and You:
- Instruct Australian Geographic Holdings Pty Ltd (“Australian Geographic”) to supply the contact information and order details you entered on the subscription form to any party necessary for the purposes of processing, fulfilling and delivering the order.
- Acknowledge that any costs for shipping of your order will be listed in your shopping cart at checkout.
- Acknowledge that prices quoted for digital products are exclusive of any charges for internet access or mobile data network transmissions.
- Australian Geographic magazine publishes 6 issues per year and Adventure magazine publishes 2 issues per year.
- Understand that ‘tip-ons’ and gifts that may be available with non-subscriber copies may not be provided with print or digital subscriber copies, depending on publisher’s discretion.
- Agree that if your order includes a gift (which is sent to the purchaser of the subscription), Australian Geographic, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the gift with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. Australian Geographic is neither responsible nor liable for any gift damaged in transit in the delivery of the gift. If the subscription is ordered as gift to be sent to another recipient, and comes with a free gift, that gift will be sent to the purchaser of the subscription. Gifts will be sent to Australian addresses only.
- Agree that any errors made in entering the contact information and order details on the subscription form are your responsibility and Australian Geographic is not liable for any consequences of such errors or incorrect information, including but not limited to failure to send any print magazines subscribed for to the correct address. If you change address or any other relevant details, please contact Australian Geographic at [email protected].
- Agree that Australian Geographic and its employees and agents will not be liable to you or any other person for any loss, injury or damage arising from or as a consequence of any act or omission by Australian Geographic.
- Digital subscriptions are fulfilled via the Australian Geographic App which is available on mobile devices including Smart phones and tablets. Issues are released within the App on the on sale date. Once purchased an email confirmation will be sent with full instructions on how to download the App.
- In no circumstances will you receive a refund for a magazine received by you (whether in print or digital form). If you have any queries regarding delivery of magazines ordered by you, please contact [email protected]
- You may cancel your subscription at any time and request a refund for any unfulfilled copies. Refunds will be via the original payment method unless:-
i) Direct debit is more than 90 days old
ii) Paypal is more than 180 days old
In these circumstances, you will be asked to provide bank details for a direct deposit to be made or a cheque can be issued.
- In the unlikely event that your magazine does not arrive or there is an error in the amount of copies, you must inform us within two months of the expected delivery date to request a replacement copy or to have your account amended.
- Agree that all offers made, contracts concluded and services provided through the Australian Geographic Site shall be deemed to be made and provided in New South Wales, Australia notwithstanding your location and shall be governed exclusively by New South Wales law, and the Courts of New South Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any such matters involving or alleged to involve Australian Geographic.
- Agree that any personal information provided by you through your use of this website shall, when provided by you, be used and disclosed by Australian Geographic in accordance with the Australian Geographic Privacy Policy located HERE.
- Acknowledge that these Standard T&Cs may be modified from time to time, and agree that you are responsible for regularly reviewing these Standard T&Cs, and you agree to any such modification.
- Agree that, to the extent permitted by law, Australian Geographic and/or its suppliers exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever including without limitation, damages for loss of life, data or profits, arising out of or in any way connected with the use or performance of the Australian Geographic Site, the delay or inability to use the Australian Geographic Site, the provision of or failure to provide goods or services, or any information, software, products or services obtained through the Australian Geographic Site. Note that you may have rights under statutory consumer protection laws, including the Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2010 (Cth), and these Standard Subscription T&Cs are subject to any rights you may have under such laws.

- Please note that due to the age of some of our magazines, we are unable to guarantee that they will arrive in pristine condition. However, we will do our upmost to ensure that all copies are in good condition.
Promotional Codes
Promotional codes are issued by Australian Geographic Holdings Pty Ltd. Please review the specific terms and conditions as provided in the communication containing the promotional code prior to using the promotional code in association with any purchase on this site.
Return/Exchange Policy
General Returns/Exchanges
- Please contact us at [email protected] prior to sending any returns/exchanges back to us.
- Other than as required under Australian Consumer Law, Australian Geographic may accept a return and exchange the product in its absolute discretion.
- All returns/exchanges must include any accessories, documentation, etc., that was originally shipped with the product and it must be in the original packaging and in the same condition as you received it.
- Proof of purchase must accompany any returns.
- Returns/exchanges may take up to 2 weeks to process, not including shipping times.
- You are responsible for return shipping charges that are not related to a defective product or product that was damaged during initial shipping to the customer.
- Exchanges will not be provided on sale items.
Returns (Defective/Damaged Products Only)
30 Day Exchange Policy – Defective Products Only

Defective products may only be returned within 30 days of purchase. In order to process your return, we will need your order number, description of the damage (including photos if available), and any other information about your use of the product that may help us understand the potential defect.
In the event that a product is determined to be defective due to a manufacturer error or defective materials, we will repair or exchange the product as needed. If Australian Geographic determines that repair or replacement of a defective product is not practical, we will provide a refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your repaired/replacement product to reach you may vary.
Damaged in Shipment
Be sure to inspect your product once you receive it. Any damage from shipping must be reported to Australian Geographic within 14 days of receipt of the product.
If you receive your product and it has been damaged during shipment, please email us at [email protected] right away. Include a description of the damages, and include pictures if possible. This information is extremely helpful to us in making sure that our products are packaged and shipped properly. We will arrange for the damaged products to be replaced.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Exchanges for online purchases
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at [email protected]
Shipping
Orders are shipped from Sydney, NSW. For standard shipping options, please allow 2-8 business days for your delivery based on your location. For Express Shipping options, please refer to the estimated delivery times when selecting your service. For international orders, please allow 2-4 weeks. Please note delivery timeframes are to be used as a guide only and Australian Geographic are not able to guarantee the delivery for your order within these timeframes. We currently can not offer express shipping in all regions.
Domestic shipping rate: We offer flat rate shipping based on the delivery state. We ship Australia Wide
Domestic express shipping: Express shipping is not available to all addresses. We offer flat rate shipping based on the delivery state.
International shipping rate: We offer $35 flat rate shipping worldwide. International shipments do not include any duties or taxes which may be payable upon entry of the order into your country. Please contact your local customs authorities for more information.
