Justin Jones – aka ‘Jonesy’, is a passionate explorer, key¬note speaker, adventure thinker and storyteller.

Over the past 18 years he has made a career of conceiving, planning and successfully executing epic, record-setting expeditions and then sharing his experiences on the stage and screen.

In 2008 he and best mate James Castrission became the first people to kayak unsupported between Australia and New Zealand, an adventure that captured the imagination of two nations. When they reached New Zealand the reception was tumultuous. Literally thousands of people turned out to congratulate them.

In 2012 Justin and James traded paddles for skis to forge a new route to the South Pole. They skied 2275km from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back. An extraordinary adventure that took them nearly three months to complete.

Most recently Justin spent 102 days walking across the Australian Outback with his wife Lauren and their one-year-old daughter Morgan.

Justin currently holds two Guinness World Records and a place as one of Australian Geographic’s ‘Australia’s 50 Greatest Explorers of all time’. He achieved all this before he turned thirty.

He passionately believes that ANYONE is capable of being GREAT.

A humble, charismatic and inspiring character…he is the perfect example of how determination, detailed planning and foresight can enable the most ‘normal’ of us to undertake the most extraordinary feats.

“This is the gripping and inspirational account of two ordinary blokes deciding to shake off their slack city ways, climb out of their fat comfortable ruts, and use their brains, their brawn and their sheer awe-inspiring courage to turn themselves into modern-day supermen and double handedly prove that the Age of Adventure is not over” – Peter Fitzsimons

“A colourful character, underdog in a race against time, a member of that group born with that compulsion to do something crazy, something INCREDIBLE.” – Alec Baldwin – award winning actor

“Justin and James gave us a timely reminder about digging in when times are tough and never giving up. By no means what we do goes even close to the what James and Justin have done but there are some general themes that we can take on board from their unbelievable journey. CROSSING THE DITCH

Daring to dream then riding out the storm

The story of why two young successful Aussies sacrifice everything to achieve a seemingly impossible dream; to become the first to paddle across the Tasman Sea. In this mindblowing account, Jonesy shares with the audience what life on the Tasman was like; the good, the bad, every lesson learnt, and every wave inbetween.

EXTREME SOUTH

To hell and back: A journey across a frozen wasteland

Starting with very limited experience, Cas and Jonesy spent years researching, consulting with international experts, training in the Arctic and NZ, and rehearsing the skills needed to survive in the highest, driest, windiest and coldest place on Earth.

On the ice they were pushed to their very limits and almost didn’t return;

Antarctica was a ruthless mistress. Staring at the brink of death and defeat, they were able to methodically refocus and regain control over their fate and ultimately, succeed. Jonesy’s rendition of this journey will move even the stoniest of hearts.

HEADING OUTBACK

1800km, 102 days with a one year old…

In the most unlikely time of their lives. Two new parents decide to head on an epic Australian adventure. An 1800km trek across the Australian Outback with their one year daughter. In this open, raw and honest account of an expedition like no other, Jonesy will delve into the mindset, desire and reason for such an bold expedition with those he holds most dear. By the end you will question your own ideas of what ‘normal’ actually is and that a life of passion and purpose is the best path you can take.

To give this a different flavour and a more inclusive feel Jonesy offers this a two handed presentation with his wife Lauren.

ADVENTURE THINKING

Applying an expedition mindset to your everyday and business life.

In this keynote he unpacks the lessons that he has learn from the past 18years of adventures and serious, record setting expeditions. On many of his adventures there is no room for failure, for poor communication, callous oversights, poor discipline and bad leadership; the consequences can be lethal. Jonesy will share the insights provided by surviving in some of toughest environments in the world and how they can relate to you, your team and your life.
