The biggest adventure film festival is coming back again to Australia

It’s time to get excited for the outdoors with the lastest adrenaline-pumping short films from the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

Launched in 1976 as The Banff Festival of Mountain Films by The Banff Centre, the festival is held every October in Banff, Canada.

About 80 of the 375 films submitted are shown at the festival and the winners are chosen by an international jury.

Categories include: Best Film on Mountain Sport, Best Film on Mountain Environment, Best Film on Mountain Culture, Best Film on Exploration and Adventure.

This year’s tour features films on the cycling wonderman, Danny Macaskill, night skiing in Alaska, free-climbing the Cerro Torre, Climber Alex Honnold’s adventures in Africa and many more.

A selection from the festival is about to tour Australia in May.
