Photographer Nic Crampton captured this blue colour morph of the common tree snake (Dendrelaphis punctulatus), in the Cairns region, Queensland.

Common tree snakes are also called green tree snakes, but can vary in colour from vivid blues and yellow, to deep dark greens and blacks. The species grow to be about two metres long, and has a mildly toxic venom that is regarded as dangerous to humans.
