An encounter with one of Australia’s most striking birds

The latest Australian Geographic Flickr group photo of the week.

Congratulations to this week’s AG Flickr group member Kevin, for his image ‘Scarlet honeyeater’

“Among the visitors to my native-planted garden in Brisbane is the scarlet honeyeater,” says Kevin.

“It’s distributed along the east coast from Cooktown, in northern Queensland, to Victoria’s Gippsland, and is nomadic, its movements linked to the flowering of plants.”
