Mt Warning at first light
This week’s reader photo was taken by Nicolas on the summit of Mt Warning, New South Wales:
“Hiking to the top of Mt Warning in Wollumbin National Park is an experience everyone should have when passing through northern NSW/south-east QLD. I carried my heavy pack and tripod through the night with a group of friends and we reached the summit a bit before the light show started. It was a truly humbling moment to capture the first rays of sun through the clouds and hills. A peaceful experience I am keen to do again,” he said.
Due to Mount Warning’s proximity to Cape Byron, the easternmost point of Australia, Mt Warning is the first place on mainland to receive the sun’s rays each day.
