Aurora glow over Cradle Mountain

This week’s reader photo was taken by Rodney in Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania:
“I was lucky enough to be photographing the world heritage Cradle Mountain- Lake St Clair National Park when the aurora alert was issued. An aurora over Cradle Mountain is very rare to begin with but to add the fact that there was a rising full moon and a relative lack of cloud made for the perfect mix for an exceptional image. The aurora didn’t last long but it was a magical moment and one I hope to experience again,” he said.
