The latest Australian Geographic Flickr group photo of the week.

Congratulations to this week’s AG Flickr group member Glenn Smith, for his image ‘Who you looking at”.

This week’s Flickr pic was taken by Glenn, an amateur photographer in the south west of Sydney living in the Campbelltown area.

“This shot of a brown thornbill (Acanthiza  pusilla) was taken in the Australian Botanical Gardens, Mount Annan. I try and spend several hours each Saturday in the local Botanical gardens, where there is no shortage of bird life! My aim is to get one decent shot of each of the bird species that visit the gardens. Currently they have 177 different species recorded as known to frequent the gardens – I’m on 99 types of birds photographed there to date, so just over half way.

This shot was taken with the Canon 7dmk2 fitted with the Sigma 150 -600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM/S the amount of detail I can get out of this lens and camera combination still amazes me each time I sit at the computer when I get home to review my images,” he says.

The Australian Botanical Gardens are very supportive of photographers and run several photography workshops each year.  At various times of the year the gardens run bird watching guided tours of the gardens.
