A stunning sunrise over the sea shore is this week’s reader photo.

Congratulations to this week’s AG Flickr group member Luke Tscharke, for his image, ‘Stony Creek sunrise’.

Says Luke, a photographer from Kirribilli, NSW:

“This image was taken at Coalcliff Beach, at the coastal town of Coalcliff between Sydney and Wollongong. When I arrived at the location I began shooting the beautiful ocean pool which is a great feature of the area. However, I soon noticed in the distance a little creek was flowing onto the beach so I went closer to investigate.

Due to recent winter rains the creek had begun to erode the sand on the beach leaving a wall of sand and interesting rocks exposed. I decided to use this in my composition and was very lucky to get a stunning sunrise to compliment the scene. It ended up becoming one of those memorable mornings where everything came together.”

Technical information: Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 17-40L,17mm, 2 sec, ISO100, f13, tripod, Lee filters.
