PATIENCE WAS A VIRTUE for reader Shannon Calcott, who captured this rare shot of a sea crab on Penguin Island in Western Australia in this week’s photo of the week.
“As an animal-loving, art student, I’m deeply passionate about wildlife photography,” says Shannon. “To take photographs of other animals, I believe it’s about patience and energy – the energy you put out there.”
“Animals can sense our emotions as well as our intentions. I had spent my afternoon exploring Penguin Island when I spotted this little guy. He was very shy at first but I quietly sat down and waited until he scuttled back out into the sunshine.”
