We head inside a new mitochondrial DNA bone lab to find out how this new technique is solving old crimes

The NSW Health Pathology’s Forensic and Analytical Science Service (FASS) recently launched a specialist mitochondrial DNA facility. Very old human remains, previously too decomposed to contain useful DNA, can now be identified using new techniques.
