Save a species

Your support will make a difference. You could help bring a species back from the brink of extinction.
WHAT: Australian native plants
WHERE: Everywhere!
IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 50 per cent of the world's plant species are at risk of extinction. Yet without plants life as we know it on Earth wouldn't be possible.
The NSW Seedbank, based at Mount Annan Botanic Garden in Sydney, is collecting, storing and researching native Australian seeds to protect the future of these plants. So far, they have helped store about 10 per cent of the world's wild plant species. Their aim is to increase this to 25 per cent by the end of 2020.
It costs approximately $2000 to protect an endangered plant species. By joining the Save a Species campaign today you will help us protect our flora.
The NSW Seedbank was established by the Botanic Gardens Trust (BGT) in 1986 to collect seeds from across Australia as part of the Millennium Seed Bank Project, a conservation initiative to collect and store seeds from across the world.
The NSW Seedbank collects native Australian seeds that can be used to restore damaged ecosystems. They target plants most at risk from climate change and human activities to ensure that our biodiversity isn't lost.
