Gondwanalinks An opportunity to support frontline climate change research. The project will examine indicators of climate change in the Border Ranges National Park. Volunteers will collect vegetation data from altitudinal gradients that will be used as the basis for associated arthropod patterns. Researchers will collect moths using light traps and this moth data will be used to create a climate change indicator set.
Contribution: $208 days/4 nights
Duration: Monday 5 April until Friday 16 April (5 – 10 days)

“Man from Snowy River” Experience Proposed activities include revegetation work and recreation maintenance within the iconic Snowy River National Park.

Mighty River Murray ExperienceThis is a newly declared River Red Gum National Park in Victoria, and in conjunction with the adjoining Moira Forest in NSW is the largest natural River Red Gum Forest. Proposed activities include revegetation work and recreation maintenance. Camping at the Barmah Lakes Camping Ground, within Barmah Forest National Park.

WebsiteDARNGKU — Geikie Gorge National Park on the Fitzroy RiverA unique volunteer experience working with Department of Environment rangers in the national park on a variety of tasks, with many opportunities to learn about the bush, the local flora & fauna. 390km east of Broome, home of the Bunaba people.

WebsiteBrookfield Conservation ParkSpend a week in the bush assisting with the preservation of one of Australia’s iconic animals! Brookfield Conservation Park is situated in the Riverland region of South Australia and is home to threatened flora and fauna species. CVA manages the Park and undertakes a range of volunteer activities with a focus on research of threatened species including the Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat and their habitat. Baseline data collection is one of the main priorities.
CVA are instrumental in delivering cutting edge research at the Park by assisting scientists in the long-term monitoring of animals to try to better understand how they will respond to climate change and ultimately how to better manage their populations. Volunteers will be assisting with surveying wombat warrens helping to establish population numbers in the region. They will also assist with the Onion weed eradication program helping to determine the best and most appropriate methods in the park.

Deep Creek Conservation ParkVolunteers will be assisting Park Rangers with the trimming of overhanging vegetation along the walking trails in the Park. It is known for its abundance of wildlife, birds and plants - a spectacular place to see! Participants need to be reasonably fit with no ankle/knee injuries, as some of the trails are steep.

WebsiteFlinders Ranges Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby SurveyFlinders Ranges are home to the endangered iconic Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby. Volunteers will be assisting scientists with ongoing research of this illusive animal by surveying known sites and collecting data. A rare opportunity to be part of the Bounceback program and spend time in a spectacular location.

Website Flora River Nature Park - Bellyache bush controlDo you want to experience the Northern Territory outback and work with Parks and Wildlife, and Indigenous rangers? You can! Come and help on this project in the Flora River National Park outside of Katherine. You will get to scout this wondrous terrain for Bellyache bush (Jatropha gossypifolia), a toxic weed that is choking the river habitat of the Park.
