This curious Australian sea-lion pup (Neophoca cinerea) came to investigate Jacqueline McGhie as she enjoyed a snorkel in Jurien Bay.

Australian sea lions can be found in the waters off the small islands of Jurien Bay, WA.
This week’s reader photo was taken by Jacqueline McGhie, from Duncraig, WA.
“Roughly a two-hour drive north of Perth is a town called Jurien Bay. Out on the small islands of Jurien Bay the Australian Sea Lion can be found hauling out. I was enjoying a snorkel around the area when this pup came to investigate me. Remembering to keep a distance, I still managed a couple of snaps before exiting the water,” she said.
