The child-like freedom of the sun, sand and water – summer in Australia

This week’s reader photo was taken by Bronte on Moreton Island, QLD.

“A freshwater pool located in the middle of the island is a regular favourite spot for our family’s during the summers. This particular day was 36 degrees, and everyone flocked to the water together. As I was lying on the sand I noticed my little brother (who isn’t so little anymore) splashing and playing around in the water like he used to do as a kid at the beach, and I hopped up without him noticing and got this one shot. I really love it because you can feel the energy and joy from him coming through the photo, a sense of agelessness also. We all become kids again in the water,” she says.
