An aerial shot of an outback lake is this week’s contributor photo.
LAKE FROME IS A large endorheic (closed drainage) lake in South Australia, east of the northern Flinders Ranges. It as a 100km and 40km wide salt pan long.

“I took this image from a plane while flying from Sydney to La Réunion Island (French overseas territory near Madagascar),” says contributor Nicolas Rakotopare. “I used a Canon EOS 7D and a 17-50mm Lens. It’s always difficult to shoot through a plane window and I only had a minute as we were moving away from the Lake. But after a few test shots, I finally got it right.

I’m a 24-year-old international student in my third year of ecology and conservation biology. I’m passionate about nature photography. My camera is always with me and I try to capture most of my moments out in the wild and share them on my  photography blog.”
