Kimberley Expedition 09

Reports are in from an intense mission through the Kimberley, by road and river.
Sean Bozkewycz, Anthony Yap, Lachie Carracher and Jackie Hennessy have returned from a paddling expedition on the remote King Edward River in the Kimberley with tales of a journey that has deeply touched each of them.
AGO spoke with Sean Bozkewycz on his return. “It was an amazing privilege to spend so much time reconnecting with life in all its glorious simplicity”, Sean said. “Three weeks in the Kimberley stripped back the layers of contemporary life to reveal the bare necessities: shelter, food, water and company.”
The team travelled 9500 km by road, 600 km by air, and 300 km by river on the epic mission. They paddled the river in a four-man raft carrying white water playboats for the rapid descents. The team camped under the stars, ate bush tucker and were mesmerised by ancient rock art. “A repetitious cycle appeared early on whereby we would be shown just enough adversity to appreciate the privilege of the amazing times ahead”, Sean added.
