Hundreds of people braved chilly waters in Tassie this morning to mark the shortest day of the year with a cheeky nude swim.
WELL, THAT’S ONE way to mark the shortest day of the year.
Almost 700 people turned out this morning for a nude swim in the River Derwent at Long Beach in Sandy Bay, Hobart, bringing an end to the 11-day Dark Mofo winter festival run by the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA).
The nude swimmers braved 12°C air and water temperatures.
“It was pretty freezing but you don’t really feel it because everyone else is running in and you’re kind of caught up in the moment … it’s cold but it’s not, like, nuts,” swimmer Alyssa Hawley told ABC News.
