Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands NP, QLD

Blindingly white sand beaches and premiere access to the Great Barrier Reef make Whitehaven beach campsite one of the most renowned in Australia. Campsites in this Whitsunday paradise are nestled among lowland vine forest and eucalyptus woodlands. The campground is approximately 30km east of Shute Harbour, solely reached by boat.

Some nice spots. Just remember that Booderee NP is in the Jervis Bay Territory. The JBT is surrounded by NSW, but not part of NSW. It is administered by ACT, not even NSW. Hence information for this NP is not available from the NSW NPWS. A bit like saying that Queanbeyan is a suburb of Canberra. As a matter of interest, the State Laws of NSW do not apply wthin the JBT. Australia is a stupendously beautiful place!!
AS a lucky Australian, my wife and I have travelled to/camped on 7 of these beaches - only 3 more on our bucket list!
Thanks AG for the magic photo presentation and the memories ! Report

I am now tempted to take my tent out of the self storage facility and go out on a holiday to a beach! It’s has been a long time since I’ve done something like that and I would love to get back into that groove again. These beaches look really good! That explains the tent in the self storage really. It was when I was younger, pre-children. I suppose that sounds like an excuse now for what’s stopping me from enjoying a camping getaway with the family? Yea, I think I’ll do just that, although I might need a separate tent for the children if I were to get some fun if you know what I mean. All right, first step, dig that tent out of my self storage facility. Report
