As the largest developing country in the South Pacific region, Papua New Guinea’s 600 separate islands account for one of the most diverse repositories of geographic, biological, linguistic and cultural wealth on earth. From the rugged terrain of the mainland,to the formidable Kokoda Track, to the hundreds of tiny offshore islands which are home to over 750 cultural groups and over 850 languages.

Track walking, mountain climbing in the Highland regions and offshore diving are popular activities. Whilst nature lovers are well catered for with teaming marine life, there are over 600 species of birds and the world's largest butterfly (the Queen Alexandra Birdwing). This largely untouched paradise is also home to spectacular fauna unique to this amazing and diverse neighbour of ours.

At the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne AG forums, our panel of experts and forum host Ian Connellan, editor of Australian Geographic, will reveal more about Papua New Guinea so you can discover in more detail how to immerse yourself in its truly unique and rich cultures.
